Gods and Men

Jocasta woke up last, suppressing a groan as she lifted herself out of her blankets. She'd never admit it, but she was starting to feel it more and more when she spent a couple of nights on the ground. Nothing to do but stretch it out and look for a bed whenever possible. Strapping on the sword laying beside her, Jocasta wandered over to get some breakfast.

"So..." John asked, "what are we doing now? Refresh my memory..."

"Well, right now, we're eating breakfast." Myrddin replied, not looking up from his food.

"As I made breakfast and brought it to you, I am aware of that," the man replied sarcastically, "I was, however, talking about what we will be doing after breakfast."

"Yeah, I know" Myrddin smirked, before going back to eating. After a few moments of silence, "What?" he defended, "I've been on the road for days with limited contact, you can't expect me to pass an opening like that up. You did say now, and then you asked us to refresh your memory. Granted, if you ever need your memory refreshed, you definitely want me doing it, so full points there, but you really need to say what you mean. Semantics, my friend, are extremely important, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise."

"Spirits above, it's way too early for you to be this annoying," Jocasta said, reaching for a plate of food.

John shook his head and went back to eating, a small smile on his face.
"You still haven't answered my question..." he said.

Ashera looked at Myrddin curiously for a moment before shaking her head and going back to drinking her tea.

"True enough," Myrddin replied, "but I'm eating right now. Wanna know, ask Jo." he said, smiling at his little rhyme.

Jocasta cuffed Myrddin across the back of the head, nearly knocking his face into his plate.

"That's Jocasta to you, kiddie. Keep this up and it'll be 'Captain' or 'Sir'."

Myrddin winced at the impact. "Duly noted." He replied before going back to his food.

"So Captain," John siad sarcastically, "what's the plan again? and when do we start?"
